From Mr. Scanner is the 2008 Mr. Scanner's FCC Database on CD Rom. This year, in addition to updated frequencies there is an entirely new search engine. The CD will automatically boot up when inserted into your computer and will allow you to do exports of the many searches and print to any printer -- local or on a network. The CD (now on a single CD rather than the earlier two CD sets), contains more than four million frequencies throughout the United States. The CD boasts that they have frequencies covering services from police to fast food drive thru’s.

The Mr. Scanner CD is the great grandchild of the Mr. Scanner frequency disks that came out in the early 1990s and were the frequency databases that got away from the book form to the more friendly computer editions. Something new this time is, it will allow the user not only to look up frequencies for a particular city or county, but now they can perform lookups by city & service or county and service as well as call sign. The other familiar features of the Mr. Scanner CD (including exports) have been maintained. Because of the new search engine, the same amount of data that originally took two CDs to cover can now be placed on one CD. There is nothing tricky about starting up the program. Simply put the CD in the CD reader and the program starts automatically.
